Branson Show Tickets
Going to Branson soon with another couple. Never been there before. Wives can't decide what shows they want to see.
Can you get good tickets on short notice? When you arrive? Or should you buy them well in advance?
Is seating at the shows generally reserved? Or is it on a first come, first serve basis?

We arrived on Monday, and went to all the theaters and got the seats we wanted for the 5 shows we wanted to see.
We had great seats and was able to pick which night we wanted. We were also able to see a couple of the theaters while there for tickets.
This was in May or June a couple of years back.

I think with this years attendance down in the Branson area the scenerio "awaywego" conveyed applies even more today then it did two years ago. We have made several trips to Branson in the last 20 years and have found sell outs to be rare. Christmas season might be the exception.

We were there a couple of months ago. Things were really slow and there was no problem at all in getting tickets for any show and the attendeance was way down.. The prices however were not 60.00 per person for the front runners.

We got some better tickets prices when we went to the visitors bureau. We priced the tickets on line and found their prices cheaper than directly from some of the theaters. Matinees can be alot cheaper than the evening tickets.
Have fun. Not sure if "Noah" is still showing at the new theater, but it was awesome.

Sojhi Tabougi (sp)--the violinist- used to always be a sell out, but I think even at his theater you can usually get tickets on short notice. If you want to see him go there first and get tickets then get them at the others you want to see.

Also check out a place called the Hard Luck Cafe. This is/was a great place to eat and the waiters/waitresses do songs while waitering. On the main drag with a sign out front towards the east end.

Should be slower now that the main tourist season is over. Looks like we will just wait til we get there.
Thanks.

Shoji Tabuchi is a "MUST SEE" in our book. The last time we were there we saw Bill Medley of the Righteous Brothers at the Dick Clark Theater. His brother-in-law or son-in-law appearing with him is Paul Revere (Paul Revere and the Raiders fame). This was a very good show if you are/were a fan. Medley's daughter joined him for a couple of songs with her doing Bobby Hatfields half. Think what you may of us, we even enjoyed Roy Rogers Jr. (really Dusty Rogers) show and RR museum. This is really "cowboy" stuff, but he even tells a little story about Roy and Dale Evans.

We were there last week and stayed at KOA Campground on Animal Safari. If you want they will furnish or work with you on a schedule of all the shows in Branson. For $7 a head they will take you to the shows and pick you up when it is over and bring you back to the campground. Tabuchi wasn't there when we were there. We seen Bill Medley, Paul Revere, Andy Williams, Neil Diamond Image, Elvis impersonator, and a must see "SIX". Everyone will enjoy that show. Six of 10 brothers put on that show. There was no girls in the family.... I would go back and see it again. Our cost just to give you an idea was somewhere in the $30 to $40 per person for the shows through KOA. That is an average.... Campground fee about $170 for 4 days. Hope this helps......JB

I agree SIX is a great show. You didn't say that these guys use no musical instruments and they sound like they have an entire band, including drums. They have an amazing story and a web site too. I think it is SIX--just google SIX Brothers and you will find out more about them

Bill & Patricia,
We stayed at Branson Stagecoach RV Park with Passport America rates, saving $18 a night for FHU, level sites, Cafe on-site (good food, morning and lunch - not open in the evening) It's about 9 miles outside of the City Center. The money savings on the CG made up for some of the $60 per person a show, a little bit. Sites are sort of small, but manageable. I just figured for the price it was a good place to stop for a week. It was, and we will return to it again in the future.
The showboat dinner cruise was great for us. Todd Oliver was the main attraction when we were there. We rolled on the floor laughing.
Happy trails.
