Anyone use or familiar with Karrier ST235/85R16 R tires from KENDA Mfg?

Sold Kenda Tires when I was in business. What was the ply rating? F or G I’m assuming. No concerns that I can remember. If I had a choice, I’d go with the G rated. You don’t have to inflate them to 110 if you are not carrying max load. We usually aired the G rated to 100 psi. I’m sure someone will correct me, but I’m just telling you what we did. The heavier tire construction was more forgiving with hazards on the road. The best way to know how far to air tires is to weigh the unit with full ready to camp load and see just what you have on your 4 trailer tires and then look at an inflation table and inflate to that weight per the ply rating on your sized tire.
Good luck.

Your going to find Sailun’s the preferred tire for these trailers. Goodyear a high second.

Why gamble a $60,000 camper on a $200 tire when we have Sailum a great tire with a known track record?

That tire probably has a brand name "Load Star" and is a LRF. Karrier's primary brand is "Kenda" and they are a little antiquated - or different - because their ST235/80R16 LRE only provides 3500# of load capacity, right between the two industry stand load capacities in that designated size.
With Keystone trailers you have to be careful selecting replacement tires that are taller than the OE tire size. Keystone has a habit of having very close axle spacing and the ST235/85R16 will not work with a 32" center to center axle spacing.
I Recommend staying with the OE designated size, ST235/80R16 LRE or going up a load range to LRF. you will almost certainly have to use new wheels if you go to the super over kill LRG tires.

I googled problems with Kenda tires and the issues seemed to be all on trailer tires. If it was me I'd go with Sailun or 614's. Too much money and hassel involved to save a little money. Until you've had a tire go, you just don't understand what's involved.

What is so good about Sailun's aside from the price?

The sailun's are 14 ply all steel which means the sidewalls are steel same as tread. You will have 4,000 to 4400 pound rating depending on whether you go 80 series or 85 series. They have a great reputation as you will not find hardly anyone who has had a problem with them. They are getting to be very easy to find because of there popularity. And yes they are much cheaper than the goodyears and are just as good if not better. I am on my second set and I would give them a 5 star rating for price and quality. If you can find a better tire then buy it but I don't think there is one out there.

They unlike many other trailer tires almost never give any trouble. So many people on this forum have had other tires blow out and take out the side of their camper doing thousands of dollars damage. That is why every body here keeps saying Sailun.

Never again will I chance a blowout. Yes, I know even my 235/85/16 Sailun could blow but them along with my new TPMS will give me the best available hope for no more blowouts.

Sailun S637s and Goodyear G614s have the best track records for these rigs. The Sailun is half the price of the GY. The GY is only rated at #3750 and the Sailun, as mentioned above is at #4000 and #4400 depending on size. The new RVIA recommendations of a 10% weight rating margin puts the Sailun in the driver's seat. I'm one of the few that had a GY blowout, no damage though, but when my rig is back from the factory, new #4400 wheels and Sailun S637 235/85/16 tires are going on. The GY have around 23k miles and are approaching the 5 year mark.
