Removing loveseat in front living

Hello MOC family! I tried to do a search for this but came up with way too many results and didn't find what I was looking for. We have a 377FL are planning to remove one of the loveseats in our front living room to make space for an office set up. Have any of you removed a loveseat in this space? If so, what did you do with that stretchy tube system for the electric cords?

If you've moved one of these loveseats, you'll know what I'm talking about. If not, I can post a picture to help with brainstorming but I'm hoping someone has already addressed this successfully. We've got some ideas but thought it would be best to consult MOC. (Edited to add photo)

Any suggestions on adding a desk in the FLL will be appreciated. The 7" lip on the slide adds a bit of complication.

TIA!

Kim

I assume you have a center console between two chairs.
The chairs and console are NOT screwed to the floor. You can wiggle/slide them out a bit to make it easier to work with.

Unplug both motors from the wall (if you have electric chairs).
The chairs lift up and off of retainer/holding clips on the bottom of the console. You might have to rock them a little to get it started.

Lift the back pleather/leather flap to expose two seat back latches with a thumb lock.
Pull the thumb lock out away from the seat back brace, and lift the seat back off the braces.

The chair bottom was heavy for me, but I took the bottoms out the door first. The chair backs are pretty light. The seat bottom and back are made of spring coil packs with thin foam all around them. I thought they might be solid foam - but they are not.

Thank you for this detailed reply! The issue is not removing the loveseat - that was surprisingly simple. After we removed it, we discovered a stretchy tube designed to cover the electrical wires when the slide is pulled in and out. This is what we are looking to address. I updated my original post with a photo.

I’ve seen a few of those in TX and fortunately they are non-poisonous…just kidding.

Do you know if there are electrical wires still in the black wire loom? I would cut all of those little white zip ties and roll it up to store against the back wall behind your new furniture. Not sure what the metal spring-thing is.

Unfortunately that wire loom has the power from the underside of the Fl to the outlets and lights in the slide out. So cutting it means no 120V, or 12V things in the slide will work. Maybe you can move most of it left and hide it behind a desk, but it is there to stay.

We removed one of our sofas and replaced it with a recliner. I had to extend the floor out to accommodate it. I just relocated the wire to the run along the wall and hid it behind molding. Although my wire wasn't as long and bulky as yours looks and not in a tube. As I recall it rides along with the slide so rerouting is was not a problem.
