3655FL Review
New to the club, but in reviewing the discussions, saw someone had asked for feedback on the 3655FL. We have a 2003, which was a replacement for a 28 foot sunline travel trailer, which we liked. The initial intimidation of a 36+ foot fifth wheel over the tag along disappeared in the first five minutes of pulling. Easier to hitch up, pulls well, follows the tow vehicle, just need to pay attention to those turns, and make them wide. Pluses: floorplan provides for real separation; separated living room in tfhe front truly separated and you dont have that "great room" feeling. Get the fireplace, well worth the money. Living Room, Kitchen/Dining area, bedroom each have a slideout, making each a separate area, vice the bedroom/great room of typical floorplan. Kitchen has plenty of counter space, one 15K BTU Air Conditioner is all that is needed. Downside: When slides are in, you have no access to bedroom or bathroom. Awning has to be pulled out before the slides come out, curb side.Half the awning area is lost because of the dining room slideout which comes out under the awning. Pluses outweight the negatives by far! We love this rig. Too bad it took us twenty years of RVing before we could afford the fifth wheel plus 350 Diesel to pull it. Since the 350 is 4WD, had to put a lowering kit on it, no big deal, $250 to the local Ford Dealer and a done deal.
