Fish boils would still be available through the fall. Weather could be warm or fall-like...no guarantees on temps! We've generally had enjoyable weather through Sept. in Door Co.

That sounds good enough for me, Dennis.

We stayed at the Door County Camping Retreat in September, arriving on Labor day. There was a 10 mile long backup going into Sturgeon Bay from the north. We were glad to be headed into Door County after the rush! The weather was great for walking around and such, not so great for swimming, but then the lake water is pretty cold most of the time! Attractions were still open, but fall times were in effect, so we had to plan our week to accommodate some closed dates for the theaters.

We didn't need the air conditioner, and did use the furnace at night.

We were pleased with the campground and would recommend it. The sites in the wagon wheel portion are heavily wooden and quite dark, since the sunlight doesn't get through! The other part is still quite wooded, but a bit more open to allow light in. They also have camping cabins if anyone needs some extra room.

We can't make the weekend of Sept. 7-9, prior commitments. Any weekend after that would be fine.

We hate to do this, but we're going to have to back out of planning a get together this fall in Door Co. We're dealing with medical issues and so we just make the commitment to it right now. So sorry to back out, but hopefully someone can take this on. With any luck, maybe we'll be able to attend.

I see in the forum that the location is not determined as of yet for the 2013 Great Lakes rally get together. Fellow MOC members tbhd2 have been to our campground, Alice Springs RV Park and Resort in Ionia, Michigan, and asked if it were available for rally's. I talked to the campground owners and they are very open to a MOC rally. They have a lot of Good Sam rally's there and the facilities is beautiful. We host the Saturday afternoon Country Music Jams from mid April to mid October and would welcome, and be glad to host and help out in any way to have a MOC get together there. If you need more information let me know and I will help in any way. Happy Trails, Steve and Susie

Steve and Susie, why don't you start another post and see what kind of feedback you get and go from there. Sounds like you got a great place there, so set a date and go for it!
I bet you get a lot of response.

Thanks for the Idea Emmel. I posted a new topic, "Mid Michigan 2013 Fall Rally" lets see how the response is. Happy Trails, Steve and Susie
