Grinding noise when I put awning in

It sounds pretty raspy when I put my awning in. Does it probably 3 out of 4 times?

If it is a shuttering noise you probably need to lubricate them. Use some silicon spray on the motor, struts and moving parts.

Mine improved by just spraying silicone on the struts and opening/closing a few times.

Well, I stumbled across this video and watch it. I didn't know what to expect and when I first saw the title, I though .... oh ya! How lame will this be. But I watched it anyway. I finished watching with a different perspective. I suggest watching too. This may be some of the reason for the raspy noise:

Did the lube job on the awning and it is much much better.
Also watched the video sent by DutchmenSport and will give that a try as well.
Much appreciated advise.

I was much relieved also when it worked for me too! Glad things are better.

Have you loosened off the locks?
