Ground clearance

Hello everyone, I am waiting for my Montana 3121RL 2022. I would like to know the distance between the front jack (footpad) and the ground.
Thanks

Patrick,

Welcome to the forum!

You will see a lot of variation on front jack clearance based on the TV and hitch set up. There is generally not an issue with the front jacks, you are more apt to ground the mid or rear jacks depending on where you pull it.

I'm not sure I understand.
Do you want the clearance between the ground and the front pad when hitched?

Sorry it's going to be a couple of weeks before our next move. I'll measure the height:

Pad to ground hitched
Tailgate down to ground, unhitched/hitched
Top of Bed rail to ground, unhitched/hitched
(This will tell you how much squat when loaded)
So you have a few points of reference.

That distance will all depend on your specific vehicle you are towing with. I don't know how you can get an accurate distance from somebody else's setup.

Your tow vehicle and the weight you have in your Rv will determine that. Air bags to level the truck can make up to 4” greater height.

Depends on what level manufacturer and model. I suspect less than 1 foot. My Lippert hydraulic jack measures 10 inches clearance (grade to jack foot) when fully retracted.

Also depends on his particular hitch and how the hitch is installed.....high, mid or low setting!

Just to clarify, my trailer stores level at the same level as on my truck hitch.

I found that the clearance defiantly varies on the pads as you travel. If you happen to cut a turn short and drop you 5th wheel wheels across the corner or ditch it is very easy to drag the rear pad. Lesson learned and nowalways make nice wide turns.

When you pick up your new rig, your dealer should help you hookup the first time.
First, make sure the rig is as level as possible. (adjust as needed.)
Next, check the clearance of the landing pads.
there are several mounting holes and your dealer should adjust them to your satisfaction before you pull out/sign on the dotted line.

I had mine raised one hole.
