How to handle junk mail

After hearing the Telemarketer Prank that was posted by Glen and Loranine, I thought I would share my almost fool proof method of getting rid of junk mail. I simply take their information and write "no thanks" on it with a magic marker and stuff it back in their postage paid envelope and mail it back to them. If they don't get the hint on the first time around I'll get a bit more forceful with my turndown with a message such as "Does your manager know that you are paying for postage with absoultely no chance that you will ever make money from me?" If they still don't get the hint, I'll weight the envelope down with any thing that I can find that will cost them extra postage.

It usually only takes a couple of times for your name to be removed from their mailing list. I haven't figured yet how to stop the junk mail that does not include postage paid envelope.

I usually do about the same thing but do not write on the junk mail. On my regular bills that they add junk offers, I just put them back in the envelope with the check I send them.

I've been doing the same thing with junk mail for a couple years now - our junk mail amount has gone down significantly! But it did take a couple times with the same companies before they stopped.. I enjoyed seeing how thick I could make those return envelopes!
