Splendide washer - water catch pan

I was reading the current thread “Splendide Washer Leak” and I have a question about water catch pans. I did not install the washer and dryer myself. I had a local RV repair shop do the job. I had a water catch pan for them to install but they did not put it in. I don’t know why. I had the work done in late July 2021. The installers left some stuff on our dining table, and I really did not look thru it until September when I started getting ready for our October trip. By then there was no time to take it back to get the pan installed. Appointments are two months out. The drip pan was still in its box. At some point I will put the pan under the washer. My question is - I assume I will have to drill a hole thru the floor to run a drain pipe? Is that correct?

IMO that would be the best thing to do.

Yes, if you put in the pan, it doesn't make sense not to have the drain. On the other hand we've had them in three rigs over the last 12 years of full timing and the only time we had a leak was the year before we went full time and didn't think to put antifreeze in the pump when we stored the rig over the winter. The pump held water that froze and cracked the motor case and cause a small leak. Once I learned from my mistake we never had a water issue again.

yes and route the hose down to the propane tank area. Assuming your W/D are in the front

My washer/dryer is located in the living room/kitchen (see below).
Will I have to remove the coroplast to look at the path for the drain line at this location?

If your washer and dryer were properly installed it should come with the Splendide Drain Away pan already installed. This Splendide Drain Away Pan has a 1/2" ID drain fitting. My Montana is arriving this week and will have this installed along with the washer/dryer. If you are getting a washer/dryer make sure this is included. They are about $55 to $75 depending where you get them.

Oh I bought a Splendide drain pan!...I only discovered that it was not installed until we were ready to leave on a big trip 2 months later. I suppose I could press them into installing the pan for me...but like I said - they are scheduling things like this for 2-3 months out. I am tempted to go with the "less brain damage" method and try to do it myself. I am not sure how the units are held in place. It will be a pain in rear either way I choose.

Edit: ScaryPapa said "If your washer and dryer were properly installed it should come with the Splendide Drain Away pan already installed."
Just to be clear...is the drain pan attached to the washer unit...therefore is "came with a drain pan already installed" Or is the drain pan a separate piece to be installed on the closet floor first? I bought a separate pan.

It is a separate piece.

I made ours out of wood and waterproofed it. The raised perimeter serves two purposes. First, to keep water contained, then to capture the washers feet to keep the unit in place.

Mike you will need to pull down a portion of the colorplast to thread your drain line through it.

Jeffba, I hated doing this but I drilled a small hole in the bottom of the front cap and ran the drain line through it. It's short, direct and turned out OK. The preferred route for the line would have required much surgery to get it to the propane tank area and down.
