Satellite TV

I have the Mountaineer Montana. It have purchased the winegard satellite with 2 receivers which works great. The bedroom satellite has a connection for the basement to set up a TV there. I figured running a cable from the satellite to the TV would allow us to watch satellite channels outside via the bedroom box. Reliazing that I can only watch the same channel as the receiver in the bedroom. I must be doing something wrong because I can't get this option to work. So far I have ran RCA cables through the window for TV outside from the bedroom receiver.

Is there something I am missing with the satellite hookup in the basement?

I bought an HDMI Splitter, and ran an HD cable to the basement TV., Can only watch the same channel in the bedroom and outside TV, but with remote set to RF, can change channels from outside. I am assuming your antenna is an HD antenna.

Yes it is Sd/HD my basement has an connection for a satellite cable and in the bedroom there is a sticker that reads sat in for bedroom and the basement. I will have to look at the receiver this afternoon. My thinking is there are 2 connections into the bedroom. One for input and now thinking the other is output.

The feed to your TV from your receiver (if like mine) is only an HDMI cable. The coax from the satellite connections only serves the receiver, so unless you put another receiver in the basement, you cannot get a signal to the TV without an HDMI cable.

You were correct. Will have to add the HDMI splitter down from the bedroom to the basement. Thanks for the help.
