Fresh Water Fill

My 2016 375FL does not have a gravity feed. As we camp in a State park with no water hookup I was thinking of a way to refill the fresh water tank on site. We really didn't want to move it to the dump station to use the fresh water hookup there to fill the tank and then resituate it on the site. In the middle of the night I woke up with a solution ( hate it when that happens). I have a old workable RV water pump from a previous RV. Today, I hooked it up to a waterhose (outlet) and a short piece of hose that goes in my water can (inlet).
Hooked it up to the unit to the city fill and turned on the pump. Success!!!! Best of all, didn't cost nothing and solved the problem.

Yep I'll probably be upgrading to a Shurflo Revolution pump to reduce the pump noise on mine and use the old pump in this manner too. Of course then I'll need to add a 12v plug in my basement to run it.

All the dump stations I have noticed had a sign stating that water there is not potable, ie, not drinking water safe. John

You can use your existing onboard pump as well. Hook your shower hose to the water inlet you normally hook you city water hose to, open the cold water, and set to "gravity". Use your winterizing hose to stick in a jug of fresh water and set that to "winterize". It will suck water from you jug and push it in the fresh water fill on back to your tank. This assumes you have the convenience center setup.
In the my neck of the woods west of the Mississippi ... many campground dump stations have both potable and non-potable water clearly marked.

Thanks for the suggestion on looping within the convenience center. And ditto on many state park dump stations having both the fresh and non-potable water there. Its annoying though if you are coming in on a Sunday when everyone is leaving and dumping to be filling the fresh tanks then, combination of a longer wait and not the cleanest feeling.

kozzy ... good point ... just have to have patience and a funnel for that 1/2" line to accept a 5 gal jug of water.

I was able to just use a hose and fill it right up, no funnel or 5 gallon bucket needed....
