Window came off

We have a 2004 Montana 2980RL, Had the weirdest thing happen. Coming home from our first voyage of the year and we lost our Bedroom Window, that doubles as our emergency escape. Has any one ever had this happen ? any suggestions about getting a replacement window ?

If it's not broke it just slide back together. take the set/stop screw out on the end of the window and you will see a "C" channel on the window and there will also be the same "C" Channel on the window frame. Just match them up and it will slide back together. Put the stop screw back in.

Psitracy,
We had that happen to us. Arrived at our destination with only the metal frame dangling off the coach. Patched it up with some duct tape and cardboard. Got home and dropped by our local RV dealer. They ordered the window and my brother and I installed it. Good luck. HamRad

Yes, sir, had that to happen on our 2955 on the way to Georgia. I think it is because the lock on the window was accidentally opened when the shade was pulled down. Our replacement had the lock reversed--my hunch was this was to correct as small mistake in design.

We patched up with cardboard and a whole lot of duck tape until we could get a piece of plexiglass to get home with. Then we ordered a replacement bedroom/exit window.

Our damage to the window was too extensive for any repair other than replacement. We had possibly traveled for several hundred miles before we knew of the failure.

My guess would be that even if the window is still useable the set screw is missing.

We got set up today in Chowchilla CA and I noticed the rear lower left window ajar. Freaked me out because we have never opened those two rear lower windows. I went inside and discovered that the push/pull lever had snapped off where it fastens to the window. It is a cheap aluminum assembly but it still should not have broken. I was able to use a tie wrap to secure it in the closed position. I think we are lucky because it could have broken and came completely out.

Same thing happened to us. It is now at the Dealers getting a new window. We had never opened that window either and san't figuere out why the lever should have snapped

I drilled 4 additional holes and put two more wire ties inside it to make sure it doesn't come open again. We hate to try to get it replaced while on this trip. We will stop at a dealer closer to home next month. I wonder how many more of these new frameless windows with the push latches will fail?
