Toilet water valve lube?

I'm getting ready to replace my toilet's water valve assembly and I haven't been able to locate any info from Sealand regarding lube for the top cap surface. Perhaps it doesn't require anything, but it seems like it should have something applied to extend the life.

Does anyone know what, if anything, should be applied according to the manufacturer?

We just use a little vegetable oil from time to time.

for rubber o-rings and seals you should use "O-ring grease" a small tube will last you forever.

I believe he was asking about the water valve not the toilet bowl seal.
