Bedroom Slide Leak?

We have a 2010 3585SA brand new off the lot. Second day out on road we have wet carpet in bedroom towards head of bed on either side and then on the carpet on the slide itself. This extends to under the bed we are pretty sure; we are going to take apart what we can today and try to see how far it extends.

I wanted to post photos but am fairly new here, so have not figured that out.

We had slides out in snow the first night, slides in and traveled 300+ miles. Had rain last night and at about 9 PM noticed the wet carpet. It was dry prior to that.

All exterior seals outside look tight and we know this rig has had an above-average PDI.

Is it possible that traces of snow / ice (even though we saw no ice deposits) on slide sides could cause this? Perhaps some bit of snow/ice on slide topper that melted once rig was heated with furnace inside after we stopped?

It is almost impossible to believe that we have a slide leak with this rig. Walls are not wet - it's like it is coming from underneath upwards. Totally weird.

Sorry for the randomness of this message. We have been drying out carpet last night and today . . . basically in shock that this has occurred. At any rate, I'm typically more concise than this.

We'll try to take up the under bed storage platform and see what's happening under there for possible leaks and carpet wetness.

Would appreciate any ideas or things to check?

water could come from the top of the slide or topper .if your hydralic fluid is up then the hydralics are not leaking.then more likely it is water from the top of slide running down the slide onto the floor.

For starters just make sure the lip of the seals all around the slide are pointing out. Make sure the top seal overlaps on the outside of the side seals. Make sure the drains on the bottom of the side seals are clear. Make sure nothing like a sock or towel has got caught on the inside between the slide and the side of the camper when you put the slides out. There could have been say 1/2" layer of frozen snow on top of the slide when you brought it in that melted. Just throwing out possibilities here.

That would make sense, but last night was our second night at this campsite. Slides had been open 24 hours but with no rain and carpet was dry.

We are totally befuddled . . .

Found water stains on the wood at the head of the bed after taking out the platform in the bed storage area. No hydraulic leak; that's all dry. Seems to be originating from outside at the corner of the bed . . . not the corner of the slide?

Phone calls appear to be in order at this point . . .

Seals are like they should be.

Drains are clear.

Weep holes open and doing their thing.

check where the outside wall of the slide meets with the roof of the slide--if tape is loose on the roof of the slide water is getting in there and running down the inside of the wall--that happened to us one time

Hey, thanks for that one. That sounds like it may fit the situation. Doing that checking you talked about probably will have to wait until tomorrow at least - we're in Illinois right in the middle of all the snow/wind.

We had the same problem. The narrow strip that covers the wall/slide roof joint was not down smoothly. Luckily, I had a tube of the Dicor self leveling caulk, and made a temporary repair until we got back to the dealer, about 3 months later.

POSTED THIS IN AUGUST!!!!!!!!!!

Has anyone checked the top of the slideouts to see if the eternabond tape was properly applied. I checked mine after seeing the video and I have voids and cracked tape where it wasn't properly prepped or applied. Going to the dealer tomorrow. Unit is a 2010 so this should not be happening. Our bedroom slide leaked first time out. Seems the eternal bond tape on top of the outboard side next to the lip flange was not sealed. It stained our wallboard and head board of the bed. Montana fixed under warranty.
If you had snow it could have easily come in with the slide if the top slide sweep is not tight enough against the top of the slide.

I had a similar leak and found the horizontal seam that runs along the outside wall about 5" from the bottom of the slide needed some more sealant. I could see a few gaps and voids in the seal, and as water ran down the outside wall it would hit this seam and enter the slideout at just above floor level. After doing this the leak stopped and we are near Portland, OR and it is raining 24/7!
