Slide Window shattered

So just curious.

on my 3950 BR I put out the awnings in the morning and went about my daily business. When I returned I noticed something shiny on the ground at the rear of the trailer. On the living room slide the rear most window had shattered.

The awning did not make an unusual noise when being deployed and I must admit when I left in the morning I did not look back there. Anyone have this window just shatter? I looked on the inside screen and window blind to see if an impact had occurred but nothing was evident.

The dealership was unhelpful as usual and said bring it in and they would order the part and I could have it back in a few weeks..... When I tried to order just the window itself I was told I would have to buy the entire side window (two windows) as they do not sell the windows individually. So 300$ later still waiting for it to come in. Covered up the hole with insulation etc.

Anyone tried going to a glass shop to see if it could be fixed? It appears the windows are glued to the tracks.....

We had one shattered, apparently while on the road. Glass shop was a no-go. Dealer was able to order replacement window based on VIN and Model data together with photos sent to them. Took 10 days or so, window came in. Took the rig in, and replacement took a couple of hours. Yes replaced the entire window assembly. Cost covered by my Full-Time Progressive policy on the rig.

I broke a window on our 3700LK pulling into a CG, 700 bucks to get it fixed, and took 2 weeks for them to get the window in to replace. I take the rig in Monday to get it replaced. The windows are somewhat cheap, it's the labor. I called a few glass shops as well and none of them could or would do it. We had to order the window straight from keystone. I have a piece of plexiglass over ours for the time being.. Not fun.

Thanks as I expected. The windows are kind of cheap! I have been considering applying 4 mil clear burglar film over the windows which would help hold them together after an impact. I use this stuff on the windows where I work to prevent people from hitting plate glass and gaining access to restricted areas. Works like a champ. I might apply it to the section of the window that did not shatter and see if it helps "keep it together"

Thanks for the feedback! Guess 303$ is not too bad....

This is the one I broke, hit a damn pole at the entrance. 270 for window and 300 for labor, good times.

(not sure why it uploaded sideways when it's normal on my pc & phone)
