Roof Ladder
Is it me, or are the roof ladders on these units flimsy? I'm almost afraid to get on mine.

I'd say that if you are under 260 lbs, that the ladder is a pretty safe bet, ...as long as all of the hardware is nice and tight.
I've weighed up to about 230 lbs (plus a 5 gallon bucket, mostly full of soapy water [an additional ~30 to 35 lbs I'd guess]), and never had a concern with mine. Down to about 205 lbs now. =O)

About the same with me, a little over 200. But when I climb, it feels like it is bending. I never had a problem with the one on my FR.

I weigh 165 and have considered all my rigs to have flimsy ladders. I carry a telescopic ladder and when I need to get on the roof I just lean it against the back ladder to climb up.

I HATE though stuped letters scares the crap out of me. Not so much going up but trying to climb down. The for lack of a better term handles at the top are far too low and make you bend over too far. I am almost on my belly trying to get a leg over the find the first rung of the latter. The AC stands way taller that the handles so they could be made higher so one could have an easer way to find that first top rung. Ok done with the rant.

Yes, they're flimsy all right. I check the screws for tightness often. I'm only 160 lbs, too. When at home, I do like Mike and lean my household ladder against it. It also makes it easier to carry stuff up there. But, on the road, I say a prayer and climb on.

Since I weigh about 250 and have size 13 feet I haven't used an RV ladder since the one try four rigs ago. Always carry a 300 pound folding ladder with me.

one of my top brackets, not on the roof, but the last set, before the roof, the left side seems like its not anchored well, and I have tried to tighten it down, the others seem solid, but not that one. I am afraid to sink longer screws as I do not know what is behind it for backing. Unit is out of warrantee, so I have not addressed it with CW, just noticed it this year.
