Brad it, Nail it, Glue it or Screw it

Every trip we run finds more trim popping loose. I've tried staples without success. What is the common wisdom on the MOC? I just had to remove the large trim piece under the reefer to change the inverter and I'm going back with flathead screws on that. But the closet trim might better be done using adhesive. What say you? Another area is the rear storage tray bay. The side wall brads are all not holding the panels in. I've purchased a big pack of the right sized screws for that job.

Silicone the pieces and then brad nail them on, Won't move again as silicone works like glue but isn't affected by heat and vibration like glue. Been using it for 20yrs or more

Silicone and screws. In the rear storage "garage" I used self tapping screws into the aluminum frame. Most of it was covered anyway by a fishing rod holder on the left mounted horizontally and a ladder rack on the right.

On our current trip a piece of the interior light trim came off above the microwave in our 2018 3790RD. I will try the silicone and 1.25 inch screws.

Silicon is a great glut. Almost all solid surface and stone counter tops are held in place with silicone. Try to get them off it’s nearly impossible.

Screws if you have something solid enough to screw into. Silicone is good if you don't want to remove whatever you are fixing.

I agree with all the above with the exception of trim you may need to remove. If you have a pocket door and or a pivot door you will at some point have to take the trim off to repair them.

Home Depot, and probably Lowes, have some special dark colored flat head screws with very small heads that work great for that purpose. They are small diameter screw, small head, but long enough for the purpose. And the dark small head is not very noticeable.

DW would have little kittens if she saw any screw heads. I ordered some black silicone adhesive from AMZN. Be here tomorrow. Be perfect for the trim around and in the back of the BR closet.

I use ring shank finishing nails for trim around the closet. With these you won't need any silicone or other adhesive and you can usually find the nails in a color that will match your trim.

Hit a bump several days ago and the trim covering the slide motors ( Bal type) fell down. That piece weighs at least 10 lbs and it held in with pins shot from a nail gun. I drilled and countersunk some screws with the idea of putting in plug similar in color to the trim but the only flat place to screw the trim wasn’t thick enough. I’m going to use round head screws with button top covers next timw

These are called trim screws. Best if used with adhesive or silicone. Because of the very small heads, not recommended, imho, for anything in an Rv.

Whenever I have a screw, brad, nail whatever come out I put it back but I use gorilla glue construction adhesive. I but it in the hole as well as on the screw or nail I am using haven’t had any come back out. In the shower I used silicone in the same way with no issues. When we replaced the outside trim I used the silicone in the track before replacing the trim.

I have been using the #2 head brown wood screws. If I need to I can remove the trim and the screws seem to hold everything n place.

I had a piece of trim fall off the ceiling. I used a $18.00 brad nailer from Harbor Freight with 1" brad nails into the aluminum.
I didn't overdo the brads. It's still snugly there after 3 years.

We have a 2018 3160 RL and the crown molding between the ceiling and the wall keeps popping off. We tried to screw it but those didn’t work. Do you think silicone will work? Or???

So silicone glue for the closet trim works great. On the living room, what do the brads nail into? Just the wall panel, or like the closet trim into a wood backer? I was thinking of doing a counter sink flathead black screw but if only going into the thin wall panel, not sure how effective that would be. Don't want to glue since I may have to remove in the future. So what's behind the wall panel where they used brads?
