Hello from MO
Hello,
Just wanted to thank you for the admittance into the club. The wife and I will be purchasing the 294RL or the 295RL within a matter of weeks. We have agreed on the floorplan we want, now it’s just the back and forth on which fridge (RV or Res). I like the RV and she wants the Res, so guess who do you think will win out? In the meantime, I’m learning everything I can about solar and boondocking with a Res Fridge. Got to love these forums they significantly speed up the learning curve timeframe, I have learned a ton in the last few days here.
Thanks again
Rick

Welcome from the K.C. Missouri area. Have been a regular in your neck of the woods at Bennett Springs State Park since 1964. Ton of information and some really nice people on this forum.

Thank you and you know jimcol, I've lived here a long time and only been there a handful of times. Hopefully, that will change here in the future and I would really like to make opening day next spring and try myself with a fly rod that’s been my closet a year.

Welcome aboard Rick and Juana! Since you're from the Central Plains Area, I'm extending a personal invitation to you to join us at the MOC Central Plains Regional Rally(CPRR)coming in July up here in Nebraska City, NE at Victorian Acres RV Park. You can ask jimcol and multiple others about our Regional Rally and what we do OR you can check out what we do by going to the Regional Camping Clubs section here on the Forum. Hope you can join us!
In respects to RV frig vs. residential frig, I myself prefer the RV frig because even if we boondock we can always use our Honda generator/s. We have a choice to use electric when plugged into a campground to run the frig or switch it to propane if boondocking. I feel it is the best choice but I'm sure you'll get more opinions on this.
Anyway, welcome aboard and hope you enjoy that 294 or 295 and also hope you'll consider joining us up here in Nebraska next July.

Welcome to the forum from Kansas! I have to agree with Rondo, that the Central Plains Rally is a fun rally. We had a great time. Have fun picking out your unit! Enjoy!

We went to Bennett Springs after the National Rally before returning home.
Been fishing there for 40 years.
Hope to see y’all there.

Welcome to the forum! When we used to boondock often we had seven solar panels and six golf cart batteries and it still wasn't enough to power everything we wanted to be able to use and a residential refrigerator. So even though we don't boondock much with our new rig, it's still an RV frig for us. We lost power for 15 hours last summer and the generators powered the AC and the frig and water heater used the propane.

I went to 37 consecutive opening days. Quit when I hit 50 and probably the last 20 were more for the comrade then the fishing. It's an event and it's fun. The local chamber use to really roll out the red carpet with bonfires and hot donuts up and down the stream. Not sure how it is now.
If you are just dusting off that fly rod do yourself and everyone around you a favor and don't try it on opening day. The old saying goes about opening day, "shoulder to shoulder and that's in the third row."
We hope to be there for a few days the last week of October. Come on down.

Lol, Very good point “Shoulder to shoulder and that's in the third row".
Thank you all for the “Welcomes” and the boondocking advice about the panels and batteries. We now have all the boxes checked. Just receive an offer on a factory direct order 294RL (RV Fridge) that will have exactly what we want. Price is good and hopefully I can use it to negotiate the same deal with the local dealer. If not, we head out of state for the purchase.
Thank you all again.
