Replace fuse in microwave
Merry Christmas all!
We have a 2019 3931FB. The High Pointe microwave lost power this morning. I checked the breaker (it’s okay) and I’m guessing it’s the fuse in the microwave. I looked at the manual. It says to remove the 2 screws from the top front panel and the piece will lift off. However I’m having no success getting it off. Do I need to pull the microwave out to get it off?

My High Pointe Microwave quit. Suspected fuse. Found a couple of YouTube videos showing how to remove the top front cover and replace the fuse. Take a butter knife and run it under the top edge. Apparently where the 2 screws go down from the top, there is some metal burrs that protrude through the screw holes into the plastic tab that cause it to hang on. Run the butter knife under the screw holes releases the top front cover. PULL HARD straight towards you.

Thanks Daryles. Took a putty knife and got it off. The manual is wrong. You don’t lift up. It pulls straight out. It was a blown fuse. Appreciate your help.

Hi all. I’ve replace the microwave fuse 3 times since Christmas Day. Any ideas what I should be checking as to why it keeps blowing? I’m using 20A appliance fuses. Thanks

Same problem here. I assume you have a Highpointe MW. If so, the problem may be in the door switches. From what I have gleaned, is that it is designed to blow the fuse if the door switches do not close in the proper sequence. Don't hold me to that, but that is what I have read. I could replace the fuse and it may last for a week, and then the next time I close the door, it blows. But it always blow when closing the door. I'll either replace the door switches to see if that fixes it, or go ahead a replace the MW.

I replaced all 3 micro switches and know it works ok, the switches cost, was about $18.00 . But it's kind of a job to get at, I think there was a bad batch of switches.

Mine is a much older model but when I had to replace it the original had some funky numbers on it that I couldn't relate to. Was in west Yellowstone so went to the only hardware store in town. The guy running the place was familiar with
the markings. He didn't have a replacement for it but sent me to a place in town that worked in I think communication systems. The tech there understood the markings and came up with a fuse that worked. Been in and working for about 10 years. Did you match the original fuse that came out of the oven? If not that may be your problem. Sorry so vague in my explanation but that was a long time ago and memory isn't what it use to be.

I replaced it with another 20A fuse. The original was a glas tube type. I replaced it with one from Home Depot.

I have replaced the fuse twice today. Yes it is bad door switches.
The parts are available on Amazon part number KW3A need 2, and KW3AT-16 need 1

As a work around until you replace the door switches, replace the fuse. Turn OFF the circuit breaker BEFORE you open and close the door.

Well... it keeps blowing fuses. I looked at several YouTube videos and took the switch panel out. However all the switches test good. From playing with the door, I’ve learned when you open or close the door it blows the fuse. Since the switches tested good I’m at a loss as to the problem. Maybe the latches on the door aren’t closing in the proper sequence? Has anyone else had this problem?

I had the same problem, and the switches checked out to be good but we chose
to replace the micro switches. Now it works fine so that was our problem.

I finally repaired the High Pointe MW. I replaced the switches (even though they tested good) and noticed they had a tendency to move in their slots. I took a #4 X 1/2” screw and seated them in place. So far so good. It was a $10 repair. If it blows another fuse I’m going to replace it with something from a big box store. Thanks for everyone’s help.

just called 1-574-848-1630
Very painful call
The agent said it is probably the switches. His suggestion was to take it to my Montana dealer and have the microwave unit replaced.
No sympathy nor repair suggestions.
This is a BIG black mark on Montana.
Now looking for youtube on replacing switches

ordered switches and fuses from amazon
All the switches worked as is.
it appears the "bracket" that holds the switches is adjustable, I am wondering if that is the issue
