Wet bolt question

I posed this question to the folks at e trailer.
What is the difference between an mr52hr and an lc126197 wet bolts?

Their response was they are identical in size. One is Morryde and one is Lippert. I don’t understand why there is a $16 difference. Really? $27 for one wet bolt?

They are very proud of it! Unless the material or finish is different. Choose the least expensive. As you said a wet bolt is a wet bolt is a wet bolt!

You might try etrailer, and if you are just looking for replacement wet bolts, they have a much better price

FYI.
IF you have Road Armor Equalizer (Lippert)
The hanger bolts are 3".
The Road Armor Shackles are heavy duty and thicker than regular Shackles.
The bolts for these are 3.5".

I need the longer 3 3/8” bolts and e trailer has the best price I can find at $11 and change. I just can’t see why the same bolt from Lippert is so much more. That kind of price difference makes you wonder what’s going on.

I just ordered bolts from Lippert that are not Wet bolts... I think the hollow innards of the wet bolt may cause them to be weak and break... I don't know.. just a guess.

I just checked both are 9/16 OD x 3 3/8 long. Unless there is a difference in material there is no difference. Neither tells what specific material is used. I guess they are hardened and that could make a difference. A hollow bolt that has been cast hardened is stronger than a solid bolt.

When I've worked with these wet bolts, there is no case hardening of them, and even if there were, the hardening would only be very shallow at the surface. Even the grease passage is very small diameter which should not have much effect on its strength. The bolts can be black oxide treated or plated to help prevent corrosion.
