Roof repair

I just noticed that the front part of my rubber roof is lifting up an is pullying away from edges causeing it to wrinkle. I believewithout replacing the entire roof i can cut across an remove the bad part an replace by over lapping front to back. Has anyone used the tape that is advertised for roofs an what other than scrapping the old caulking off is there a easier way. Any thoughts or suggestions.

Eternabond tape is great, and stronger than the original roof material. Have used in on several roof tears over the years with no problem and carry a roll with us just in case. Easy to use, but once you put it down, it is down. Don't understand exactly what you are experiencing with your roof, so no comment without greater detail.

The old roof should be glued to the plywood roof substrate. The rounded over edges are just sheet metal and it won't be glued in that area to my knowledge as the roofing membrane is secured behind the metal channel that runs front to back near the top. Do not use any chemical that might attack the rubber roof. If it was me, I would only use a wire wheel to knock down any really thick areas of glue. New glue has to be rubber roof compatible of course.

Eternabond tape and Dicor self leveling lap sealant. I carry them with me all the time.

Can't tell from your description exactly what the issue is. Virtually all these roofs have some wrinkles in them and that is nothing to be alarmed about. When you say it is lifting up I think of the front seal being jeopardized and air getting under it and lifting the entire rubber membrane. Seen it on other units going down the road. Looks like a big balloon on the top of the rig. If that is the case I think you are looking at an extensive repair. I would not trust the tape to hold the membrane to the plywood or the front cap. Think you would be looking more at a total reglue.

Thanks to all. For the one comment yes it is lifting up i noticed it when we were parked in rest stop with a really strong crosswind. Looking at the metal channels i dont see any screws except at corners i guess they use a silicone adhesive to glue them down? Ya a putty knife an a wire wheel to remove an reglue an reseal sounds good..

Are you sure there is not a slide in vinyl strip in the channel that covers the screws?
