AC making a noise.

Have a 2016 3791RD Montana which is elevated rear living. This weekend we went to our seasonal site and was over 95 degrees inside. Turned both AC,s on with fans on high and after a while it was starting to cool down, then the rear AC periodically would make a moaning or a growling sound for a few seconds then stop. One time it didn't stop making the noise so turned thermostat warmer to cut compressor off for a minute then it stopped then after it stopped i then lowered the thermostat again then later on did the noise again. I don't have the quite cool AC just have the old style AC with the filter and vent you can open on the white cover for air to come straight down instead of going through the round ceiling vents. Any suggestion thanks ? Chuck.
