Installing LED strip

I’m adding an LED strip that I’ll put in about 2” down from my awning. The power end will be about 18” above the existing porch light. My question is, is there anything between where my wiring will come off of the strip to the porch light? I would like to run the wire between the wall to the light for a clean look. Just curious if anybody out there has done this mod. (5er is still in the shop or I’d just look myself) thanks

I removed the porch light and its internal guts and then used that wiring for the power source to my led light strip. The controller fits inside the porch light housing perfectly too. All I do now is turn the porch light on inside, then I use the remote to power the led lights system. I drilled a small hole in top of the light housing to feed the wire into it, then siliconed over it when done.
