Should we relax the level up system for the winter months, block the frame,in storage, being better for seals? John R.

Hi
I would worry more about corrosion on the exposed jack rams. A lot of dump trucks have had their rams damaged this way by the owner leaving the dump body raised some in the front to keep rain water from standing in the dump body.

At the Rally, Lippert said leaving them out shouldn't be a problem unless salt air or water can get on them. They did say they should be exercised often to keep the seals heathy.

I guess I would find out what type of lube the rams like and after set up douse them with generous amounts to keep them coated for the long haul. Other than collecting some dust and debris over time if the lube is "greasy enough", one would have to remember to rub them clean prior to use just to prevent any of this crud from getting up into the works.
If in storage how often is "exercised often"?

The manual states you should spray them once a week with silicone spray. Was wondering if that would just collect more dirt and dust?

I use a "dry" silicon spray.

Putting the trailer on blocks relieves pressure on the tires. I've seen some that even remove the wheels/tires and keep them somewhere for long term storage. Then just remember after putting them back on, to torque them and recheck them accordingly. Putting the trailer on blocks also prevents theft of the trailer wherever it's stored.
