Keeping Fresh Water Tanks Clean
Back in 2007, I was at a Rally in Redmond, OR. I was attending a seminar that sold "The Solutions" products. Great cleaners. The speaker also mentioned to pour some Hydrogen Peroxide in your fresh water tank to keep the water clean. It seemed to work fine. No after taste like one gets using the chlorine bleach.
The only problem I have now is remembering how much of the Hydrogen Peroxide I need to put in a 40 gallon tank. I seemed to have lost that info along the line.
Anyone have any ideas please respond.

For over eight years full timing we have used a product called Purogene in our freshwater tank. We have never had any kind of bad taste coming from our freshwater. It's a rather inexpensive product that really works. We've gone as long as four months without drawing water from the tank and when we do the water is good.

Orv, do you order Purogene from the main company in Norman OK or thru some other vender/distributor? Tks. Dennis

I originally purchased it at an Escapade rally and after that I purchased it on line.

I did a bit of a search and found this thread on another RV site. I only read the first 2 pages but some folks with, apparently, an applicable background stated that it would be expensive and dangerous to use it at an appropriate strength.
edit; Sorry Glenn, I didn't go to your suggested site but found the same one.

I want to thank you all for your replies and expecially Orv for recommending Purogene. I got a quart on order to give it a try. The research shows that it is a good product and much better than using Hydrogen Peroxide.
