Dodge Owners Please!

As you'll see by my signature, I drive a 2001 Dodge 3/4 ton. It's a bit troubling that at only 2 years old, it has play in the steering wheel....an inch or better. I have had the truck since new, and actually started noticing play at 6 months, but it seems to be getting worse. Is this common for these Dodge trucks??? I would really appreciate some feedback from Dodge owners current OR recent past.

Thanks!
