Include a print

With all of the comments about where wires and pipes run behind the walls on the various topics, I used the new "send us your idea" option on the Keystone website to recommend that they include prints of the various systems, electrical wiring, water lines, sewer, etc. so that we would know where they are located behind the walls and under the floor. The manufactured housing people include such prints when they sell a home.

Great idea but Montana makes so many different floor plans and on top of that they are constantly making running changes and add ons it would be nearly impossible to keep these schematics up to date. If you get a chance it would benefit you if you could take a tour of the plant. After the tour you would better understand the situation.

That would be nice however the Rv industry is not the manufactured home industry, or the auto industry or any other kind of normal industry.the Rv industry marches to the beat of its own drum.As Glenn states tour a Rv factory, any Rv factory and you will understand.

Although I believe what Rich and Glenn are saying; I still don't understand why it is that way. The RV industry isn't some small handmade backyard operation. It is a 70+ year old, billion dollar a year business. There is a reason that all other manufacturing businesses use blueprints and schematics. A RV just isn't that different than a manufactured home. With Keystone building 40 Montanas a day plus all of the other brands and models that they make; I would think that the efficiency of using standard wiring harness and other standard techniques would save them a bundle. This seems to me to just be a case of "we have always done it this way".

I'd be happy with a half decent owner's manual.

I hear ya Bert. These things are not much help. The year my unit was built they didn't include a whole lot about the unit itself, mostly stuff for appliances.
