WRSR Verde Canyon Railroad

Has anyone checked into the Verde Canyon Railroad tours for the Western Rally? I've heard it is quite an experience. Maybe the MOC could charter a complete car if there is enough interest by the attendees in taking the train ride. Just an idea for the WMs and those in charge of the Rally.

We have ridden the Verde Canyon Railroad with our Vagabond RV Club as a group and it was a wonderful experience. We had a club car with an open car that we could walk onto. We also had a package deal where we had a sandwich buffet. Would highly recommend it.

Have no fear, the Camp Verde railroad excursion is just one of many events being planned for the WRSR @ Camp Verde.

We are definitely interested in the Verde train excursion. The video link was quite interesting. Will there be a new thread for this activity?

Yes, as soon as we get a volunteer to coordinate it; position is still open.

The suggested activity date Monday 4/15 1pm departure. Individual tickets with approved discounts and linked to MOC group is recommended at a quote of $123.14. A roster is needed for the representative to link our group together.
The rest is open for discussion to do a group thing or just coordinate it into your own schedule. This is an expensive activity for two and some have or will feel the same. Its the Wagon Masters Call. Verde Canyon Railroad - https://verdecanyonrr.com/

The entire train features comfortable living room style seating- overstuffed chairs*and*love seats, complimentary appetizers,*and*a complimentary glass of champagne or sparkling cider upon boarding. Appetizers are individually wrapped,*and*each person receives their own charcuterie box at their seat, featuring gourmet cheeses*and*meats, crackers, fruit, fruit dip*and*brownie bites.*
Everyone's got access to the outdoor viewing cars*and*can move back*and*forth between indoor/outdoor at their leisure.
Full bar service is available on board. The group*can run a tab, or folks in the group*may purchase beverages on their own.
The train cars hold between 26-40 passengers, depending on the car. We have 11 cars*and*most seat 38.*If you'd like to charter cars privately, you'd simply need to purchase all of the seats on the particular car/cars. * Our smallest two car combo seats 66. Three cars together seat 104, and so on. The entire train currently seats 400. Several of the cars are accessible for those with special boarding needs, so do please let us know if your group*has any mobility issues.*
Our rates are seasonal. April is High Season.
Group*rates*are in affect for parties of 20 or more*provided that the reservation and payment is coordinated by one person. It's a 12% discount.
Our rates are seasonal. *In 2024 Low Season is $125.23 ($109 + tax + $5 fuel surcharge),*and*$136.21 ($119 + tax + fuel surcharge) during High Season.*

Low Season Group*Rate (20 or more) January, February, June, July, August, November*and*December:*(all ages) $110.86 (including tax and fuel surcharge).
High Season Group*Rate*March, April, May, September, October 31:*$120.53 per person (w/ tax, etc.)
We also award one complimentary train ticket and lunch per 20 paid.
There is a $2 per person group*gratuity added to all parties of 20 or more.
Group*reservations require a 25% deposit at the time of booking (fully refundable if trip is cancelled 30 days prior to ride date), and final count/balance payment due in full 30 days prior to ride date, with final adjustments in count able to be made up until 14 days prior for a refund.

Reservations boked individually can be linked to be seated together, but we would need to be informed of the link requests well ahead of ride date.*For the best results, an initial booking should be made, and confirmation information should be shared with others in the party to request to be linked to.* They should call our main reservations number to make their bookings: (800) 293-7245. Additionally, it's recommended a group representative send our reservations team a list of all reservations expecting to be linked so we can confirm the seating is correct.
Reservations booked individually are not eligible for a group discount, but folks may be eligible for a 10% discount if they have AAA, AARP, or Military/Veteran. They would need to mention this upon booking,

Low Season*Rate January, February, June, July, August, November*and*December:*(all ages) $125.23 (including tax and fuel surcharge). 10% discount = $113.26
High Season Group*Rate*March, April, May, September, October: $136.21 (including tax and fuel surcharge). 10% discount =$123.14

We look forward to working with you!
