Park near Los Angeles?

We are going to be transiting and staying the "LA" area the week of June 3rd. I need to be able to fly out of LAX, but otherwise we don't have to be anywhere specific.

Looking for RV parks in the greater area that would be nice for my family while I am away. Thanks in advance!

Phil

Philhyde,
I believe I have read that there is a City or County park near the end of the runways at LAX. Not sure you would want to put up with the noise but it would be close to the airport! I'm sure there are Mobile Home / RV parks in the LA area but I don't know where they are. There is a large park near Valencia just north of LA. If you don't mind a commute on the 5 and 405 to the airport then it would be a good park. Good luck. Dennis

A couple of years ago we stayed in San Dimas at East Shore RV Park. This is pretty far out East, but we were visiting friends in Glendale. I mention this because we had one of the best RV sites we have ever had. In our experience the park is better than it is rated, but maybe that was because of the great site we had.

We love East Shore in San Dimas and have stayed many times. It is a long way from LAX, much closer to Ontario International. The Park is in a good area with lots of things to do, great place for to family to stay at alone. Ask for a lake view spot. Not to many places I would want to leave my family by LAX.

Thanks for the replies. I have revised my plans and think it might be better to fly out of Orange County.

Anyone stayed here?

Orangeland is a nice park with a pool about 8 miles from Orange County Airport. Close to Angel Stadium and Disneyland. Shouth Shore is about 30 miles from Orange County Airport and is connected to a County Park with a lake and walking trails. They both have their advantage.

If you wind up flying into and out of LAX after all, there's a real nice park in Malibu, just south of Leo Carillo State Park. There's a tunnel where you can walk under the PCH to the beach, and the Santa Monica Pier is just down the road if you're driving. We've stayed there twice, and would do it again.
