Talk about cold. It went all the way down to 61 last night and I was half tempted to turn the furnace on. If it get's any colder I might just have to resort to jeans and a long sleeve shirt. Thankfully they want a hi of 71 tomorrow. Now if we can just make it through the night.

Oh, I get it... you're foolin us !!! You think you're so smart... Wait, let's see... temp here is 20 and falling, foot of snow on the ground, tomorrow FIFTH snowstorm of the season moving into N. MI (BTW - still Fall, and we've already been plowed out 7 times!), 35 mph winds are already starting to drift over the roads...

OK, you ARE smart!

I don't know. With temps at 15 and a foot of new snow on the ground, it sure looks and feels like winter here in NE.

We had the joy spread to SE Texas on Christmas Day 2004 with 12" of snow for a once in a life time event, that was enough for me.

We can meet at Porky's Bayside (MM 49) for conch fritters and margaritas overlooking the harbor ... or at the Galley Grill (MM25) for the best conch chowder in the Keys. What are we doing here in the Great White North? We need a "Change in Latitude, Change in Attitude"!

Moving to Montana last month was a real eye opener...At first it wasn't that bad. Then that darned cold snap hit. Last Wednesday it was -45 in Yellowstone. It was -20 in Kalispell. It really isn't that bad. Once it says minus in front of the degrees, it all feels the same....

While I'm "Wasting Away" in Sunny So. Calif. I don't envy you guys in the Great White North. I did that for 10 years. Of course I don't want to "Trying to Reason with Hurricane Season" either. "Come Monday" you could leave but "Only Time Will Tell". You could spend "Christmas in the Carribean". I bet everyone thinks we are nuts.
Happy trails.....................

It has cooled a bit here in Yuma, there was actually a frost delay at the golf course last week. Actually ice on the grass! And our thermometer said 40! Better than up north anyway. I don't miss long johns, bundling up so you can hardly walk, shovelling snow, not being able to go somewhere cause the roads are too bad etc, etc.

Take this!

And THIS!!

Did that make you shiver???

This is middle of the afternoon a few days ago here in Northern Mich (Snowbelt). It snows so hard during the day sometimes that our street lights kick on. We actually had the National Weather service estimate that at times over these last few weeks, we were getting 3 inches an hour of snowfall. "Blizzard" is defined as "At least one inch per hour of snowfall with high winds, which reduces visibility from 1/4 to zero." We had some wind but not the 35 mph required for a "Blizzard Warning", only a "Lake Effect Snow Warning". Cheryl asked if we could PLEASE stay up here one more winter... NOT!!!

Just wanted to share the joy!

More "Joy" later. Actually, I hope next winter when we are in the RGV, or someplace similar, when the temp might drop down in the 30's at night, I hope someone sends me pics like this. I'll sure feel a lot warmer. I might even smile.

Yeah, Same reason we left northern NY. Those lake effects were lots of fun so long as you were a bear and hibernated.

Yeah, in Florida! Good move, Glenn. Next year we plan on "hibernating", too!

Not too much snow in our part of Idaho, but man, has it been cold (for here) in the single digits at night for about a month now. Aren't you guys that are having the freezing pipes worried about them breaking? I'd be freeking out.
