Outside Satellite Dish on 2005 2955RL
Has anybody with a 2005 2955RL had success hooking up a satellite dish from the external cable/satellite connection to the inside where the "loop" is in the entertainment center by the desk? According to Keystone, take the loop off, the top is sat in to the receiver then out from receiver to the bottom connector. Shut off the amplifier in the bedroom. What am I doing wrong? Any suggestions?

RKassi,
On our 03 2955 we have two wires in the entertainment center. One wire is from the outside at the satellite connection, it connects to our receiver on the right side. The other wire is not connected. The wire from TV goes to the second terminal from the left on the receiver. The TV amplifier when left on will enable the bedroom TV to work from the antenna. When using the TV connected to satellite the amplifier being on or off does not effect the picture.
There is a small switch on the back of the receiver, you may need to try the switch...back and forth. We have the Dish network.
If using a tripod to hold the sat. dish, be sure it is level and your azimuth, skew and elevation is correct. Hope this helps, Good luck! Weldon

Bob-
The upper connection on the loop on my trailer was incorrectly labeled for the Sat. connection. I was not sure how it was set up so I ran the wire through the door and made a direct connection to my reciever. Once I had a signal then I connected to the outside of the trailer and found the top one did not give me a signal, reconnected to the lower connection as was able to get the dish signal to the TV. Mine is a 3295RK but think from what you are saying about the loop it must be similar.

Ok I'll try again. Just went out and connected to the house sat system. The bottom outlet is the sat or cable. Connect that to your sat reciever. If you want the sound and video to go thrugh the Quest 2000 connect a red, white (grey) between the reciever and the Quest for audio. Connect or remove the yellow video from the Quest and plug it into the reciver video outlet. You may chose to just connect all this whith a coax cable and get sound and video straight to your TV. Turn the TV to Video 1. Quest audio 1. If you wnat the bedroom TV to recieve the sat connect a coax cable from sat reciever out to the top connector on the wall. Than select ch 3 or 4 per your sat reciever. I just spent 30 minutes checking this all out. Good luck. I really needed to do this again as our Monty is also new. By posting this I sure am sticking my neck out for a mistake.
