subfloor
I need some advise. I need to replace the subfloor in my 5th wheel. I was told to use one 3/4" plywood sheet, instead of 2 3/8 sheets. I would have thought that two 3/8 sheets of plywood with staggered seams would be stronger than 1 sheet. What do you think? Should I go with one 3/4" sheet. Or 2 3./8" sheets. Thanks for your advise.

Single sheet of 5/8 rather than use of 3/4 or staggered 3/8 would be my recommendation.

Marine grade T&G plywood. More work probably but very strong and hold up under moisture.

I would think that you would want to use the thickness of the existing subfloor to insure that slide-outs would maintain their floor clearance without having to make a bunch of adjustments. Just my opinion.

And believe 5/8 inch is what is used.

Thanks for the help. Got another ?. Has anyone rented an insulation blower from Homedepot? I am trying to figure out what size of generator to buy to run one. Homedepot rental employee was no help. He just freaked-out, and started yelling about how I was going to blow their generator up. The repairman used 1600w generator to extend my slides outs. Will 1600w generator run a insulation blower? Thanks for your advise.

You don't need A/C power to run your slides .. they are 12VDC off your battery. As for the genset recommendation ... what's the amp rating on the blower?? Go from there.

are you just adding to your floor our totally replacing the floor???? and like stated above, make sure your slides come in/out.
if just adding to subfloor I'd go with 3/8 or 1/2 inch.

Question, does the plywood floor go under the exterior wall or butt to them? I have found a soft spot on mine against the wall and don't know if it is going to be a real project or a quick one.

Believe he said replace. Putting another half inch layer on top of the existing sub flooring requires a very hard look at possible slide operation issues
