AC cover

Has anyone ever had their AC cover blown off? We found ours beside our steps when we checked on it today. It's stored at a campground. We did have some wind but it seems hard to believe it blew it off the Monty.....

Hopefully my husband can repair it. We have the rally this coming weekend.....

Unless you were experiencing extremely high winds, very very unusual . Have never heard of that happening to anybody. Did someone pull the cover and forget to refasten?

That certainly is unusual. I'd check it closely to make sure a branch or something didn't damage it previously.

If you are talking about the shroud I can't imagine wind blowing it off. Stays on at 65mph with a strong head wind. I just had to replace mine as a low limb put a hole it. There was at least 10 screws holding it on. If you can't repair it I found one from Dyers RV for about $130. That's about $30 dollars cheaper than I could buy it locally. Jim

That's interesting Jimcol - our cover only has 4 screw holes in it.... I would think there should be at least 2 on each side... Just my two cents. No other damage found - just cracked by the holes. One torn up the top. I've got pics if anyone wants to see. I'll have to learn how to load them....

Keystone is covering it under warranty and we go today to have it replaced. Thank goodness since we leave for the rally soon! Our cover had lots of holes in three sides (I guess for ventilation??) and they said the new cover doesn't have the holes. Should I be concerned? Or are the holes what caused it to blow off??

Thanks Mike & Lorraine, Dick & Joyce, Jimcol!!

Cracks around the screw holes sounds like someone got it into a tree limb or other object. Could have been the delivery driver going to the dealer and it just took this long to degrade to the point of coming off.

It's replaced. Looks like the new one sitd higher and still doesn't have enough screws in my opinion.... I don't see any vent holes out slots either.....??
