Dish, twin LNB installation
I presently am using a single LNB dish with one new receiver. The single LNB dish has one wire coming from it, the new twin LNB dish to be installed has two wires. It will be hooked up to the satellite connection on the 5er. Do I attach the two wires from the dish to a splitter, then hook to the satellite connection on the 5er? I want to pick up both satellites 110 and 119.
Thanks!

If it is a new "DishPro" LNB, the two lnb's have the switch built in. The two outputs allow you to run two receivers if desired. I have this setup, and run one coax to the trailer, and pick up both 110 and 119. You can easily tell whether the dish is a dishpro, by looking at the LNB. It will have a big DP on it in black letters.

Don and Mike,
Thanks for the replies! Will check on the diplexer.
It does not have the words"Dish Pro" on it. It is a Dish 500, I am under the impression it has the built in switch. Hoping it will work as well as the Dish Pro. Thanks again!

If the switch is indeed built in, the two leads may be for two receivers. The best way to find out is to make a guess, then do the "switch check" and it will tell if you have a switch, which one, and if it's working. I have an older model dish 500 with two individual lnbs mounted side by side with a little different angle on each one, separate leads, and a diplexer switch - two leads in, one lead out to the receiver.

VanMan,
I was able to talk to a tech about it today. He said the two wires were for separate receivers and I should be able to simply connect one to the sat. connector on the 5er. He said I would not need the diplexer....but I may go buy one anyway just in case.
Thanks!

Thunderman,
I have the Dish 500 setup on my coach. My coach didn't have satellite connections so I added them. Here is a link to my website that has pictures and may help you with your setup.

fulltimedreamer,
Thanks for the response, I checked the pictures regarding your satellite connections. Looks like you did a really professional job, neat and clean. Thanks again!
