Corpus Christi
Well, we are in Corpus Christi at the Naval Air Station in site #55.
We invited Coleen and Bob (Driftwood Gal) down and they were able to spend 4 nights with us. It was a nice visit seeing them again and they are such a hoot. They departed this morning for home and survived the high winds we are having.
Bob stated yesterday that they don't have any desire to come back here and camp. As of today we feel the same way. Sustained winds 30-35 with gusts to 40, and today it gusted to 46 mph.
Around 1 a.m. I got up and pulled in the driver side slide, the little one over 12 ft long, to keep the toppers from bang, bang, banging, and cranked the OTA antenna down. We're using satellite anyhow and don't need it except for local channels, and we use the computers for weather
We'll be here until Thursday, 22nd if anyone is in the area.
Coleen and Bob, thanks for the company and as always we enjoyed our time with ya'll.
Edited: p.s., Corpus Christi NAS is an open base. If you want to use the MWR facilities to include the campground you have to register in person at the main gate, give them $20 and in a week you will have your access after a background check. You can come and go as you please and use the CG. Don't ask me when it is not windy here as I can tell you that it is not windy when we are not here.
