Check to make sure your inverter is turned on when towing or boondocking which powers the fridge when you are not hooked to shore power.

If you run your fridge on the inverter you have to have a big enough battery bank so you aren't going to ruin your batteries by drawing them down to far.

I have not used in-command so I can't help you there. Check for a switch in your main switch panel or on the inverter itself which is normally placed up in the battery compartment. When you are towing your truck will keep the battery charged while it powers the fridge. Sounds like your dealer dropped the ball on explaining how the fridge works.

Mine is located upside down in the past thru storage area. It is red and there is a on/off switch. I have two 27 batteries because of the res. frig. Make sure the frig is on! Mine was on "display" mode and the lights were on but not the fridge. You need to download the manual as the dealer probably didn't provide one. We leave the inverter on all the time during trips. The inverter will adjust if you are on shore power so shouldn't hurt anything. Just turn off when storing or not using it and no shore power.

Inverter on mine is in driver side storage area, push button to start before trip. Also a battery power shutoff switch in battery area on the wall. My friend found that the wires from fridge to battery were never connected !!!! I assume it was working on shore power.

Also might want to check your fuse in the truck or if you know how check at your 7 pin plug and see if it is sending voltage through the line that charges the trailer. Sometimes that fuse blows if you plug into shore power while the truck is still hooked to the trailer.

I didn't know that. Fortunately, it has never happened to me.

First, was it cooling good on shore power? I'm fuzzy on how the reefer is connected to the inverter but sounds like others gave good instructions for inverter switching. If it's the Samsung unit, check the display, if both show OF then push power freeze and energy saver at same time and hold a few seconds. This will remove it from demo/store mode. What is PDI?

A couple adds - first agree with several of the other posts to check the inverter and make sure it is turned on.
Second - we had an issue with our Monti 353RL. The inverter was wired to the TV circuit and not the refrig. Check! Thanks. Keystone!
And to help a little. The inverter has an auto transfer switch that switches to battery power when the shore power is disconnected. The inverter has a pass thru circuit that lets 110 vac shore power pass thru and run the frig. The wiring for the frig circuit is connected to the inverter so this circuit is powered whether by shore power or battery inverter. The inverter is plugged into a 110 vac shore power circuit which is where the power comes from when plugged into shore power. Hope this helps. Steve

PDI = Pre-delivery inspection when dealer goes through all the ins and outs, Like, TURN THIS INVERTER ON PRIOR TO TRAVELING....

As a general rule, there is no reason to turn the Inverter off, unless your unit will be sitting unused for a period of time. Ours runs 24/7-365

the inverter is bolted to the pass thru ceiling. it must be plugged into the outlet next to it and the button on the front, little red square must be pressed to turn it on or else your fridge will not cool while traveling

oops, noticed you solved your problem. glad your all set now. Happy travels

Inverters on the new units don't have on/off switches and are automatically activated when the unit is unplugged from shore power. If your refrigerator was cold and your battery fully charged with no other drain on the battery when you started your trip it should have still been cold when you arrived. I have been told that the refrigerator should remain cold inside for 4-6 hours if the door is kept closed even without running. The residential refrigerators will discharge a battery in a matter of hours and your truck charging system.will not replenish it, it will only maintain the state of the battery if there is minimal draw.

I unplugged from shore power and turned on the inverter. I ran for 6 hrs off the battery before I plugged back in. I have traveled for 8hrs with the fridge running with no issues. At the time I only had 1 battery in my unit. To be fair the fridge was cold before I left. Real world experience.

Residential Refrigerator Inverter

How can I tell if the inverter is turned on? I have an on / off switch but nothing lights up when pushed.

When my inverter is running the fan in it is easy to hear if I open the pass through door. I got in the habit of checking it like that before we travel.
