Converter Reconditioning

My power converter a WFCO WF9865 65 Watt quit on my 2010 Mountaineer. I replaced it with a new one. Is there any place I could send my old defective converter to where they would recondition it and return it to me to use as a spare? I can buy a new one for $195, so I don't know what refurbishing my old one would cost or if it would be cheaper than a new one. Any ideas?

Can it be fixed? Yes probably. It would cost $30 to send it both ways and then you are looking at a hundred dollars or so to find the problem then parts. Parts could cost from 20 cents to replacing the main board. So is it worth fixing probably not. It’s a disposable item.

Thanks. I was afraid that would be the response.

I would carry a regular battery charger vice a spare converter. You can use it for your truck or the battery bank in your rig if the converter bites the dust while waiting on a new converter.

Carrying a battery charger is a good idea but just be sure I will charge an almost dead batteries most of the new light weight chargers won’t.
