Lippert six point level up system
Got this from the Escapee's forum...Interesting.
Lippert has finally offered a user fix for temperature related popping in their hydraulic four point and six point auto leveling systems used on many fifth wheel trailers. They determined the noise was caused by high stiction (static friction) in the hydraulic cylinders. Changing out a quart of hydraulic fluid for a quart of Torco RFF 15 ( 15 weight racing fork fluid) significantly reduces stiction and thereby greatly reduces the popping and jolting that many rv owners have felt. There is a recommended procedure to follow, and 10 wt fluid may also be used in cooler climates.

Rich, just Googled that stuff. Not cheap $12.84/Liter on Amazon. Looks like it the Hot set-up for the Front Forks on Moto-cross Bikes. Guess if we order something else from Amazon may order 1 or 2 to give it a try. We don't have the popping all the time, but every now and again.

Rich, please inform us after talking with Lippert. Just placed a bottle on my Amazon wish list.

Dennis, since you have an 07 I take it you did the retro-fit, same as we did on our 2010. Ours was done by TrailAir at their facility and we never had any popping with that setup. Seems from what I have read, is that all the popping has started since Lippert took over and started doing the installs. We have the Factory installed system on our SOB and we do get the popping sometimes, but not all the time. Just my thoughts and observations on the issue.

I was one of the first three to have the Level Up installed by Trail-aire after the Rally that year they made the deal for the system. I experience the popping in the legs, mainly the front but on occasion the rear legs as well. I have heard others of various makes (SOBs) that have also stated their legs pop. So it will be interesting to hear what may be a solution. If this fluid is the solution to the issue, then it will be greatly appreciated by me. The cost of the fluid is small compared to the popping noise in the middle of the night.

As a paramedic, I can confirm that penicillin does not cure "stiction." You still are afflicted with it and need to seek out medical attention asap.
