Choose Your Dealer Wisely

We get a lot of prospective buyers on here and an incident just happened that reminded me once again how critical having a good dealer is to having a good ownership experience. Anyone who has built a house knows that there is always a punch list of things to fix before occupancy. The punch list length depends on how thorough the builder is before the owner does the walk through. Our new 3230CK arrived at Leach Camper in Council Bluffs, Iowa. This is the second camper we have purchased from them. We were scheduled to leave for the 500 mile drive to Iowa on Sunday. I got a call from our salesman that there was an issue. The In-Command system is not talking to the HVAC system. We can all say every dealer should be that thorough that they go through every system on the RV before PDI with the customer. But based on the posts here, we know that doesn’t happen. Instead of waiting in a hotel while they diagnose the issue, we are able to delay our trip a day or two. I have searched the MOC and found someone had a similar issue and turned off all power, hit the In-Command reset, re-powered the unit and everything was fine. Or, ours may require a part expedited in. Regardless, our dealer is doing what all dealers should do - fix it before I get there. So, whether you are intent on a Montana or SOB, choose your dealer first. Your happiness depends upon it. And, if you are looking for a great dealer, Leach Camper is a great option.

Congratulations on the new rig.

Good points, glad they caught that before you arrived. I am having similar bad thoughts, mainly finding issues in the first year of use.

Hoping the rest of your new rig pickup works out better for you, and safe travels.

Allen
