I built a wall across the pass through storage bay about 2 foot back from the drivers side access door to create a dedicated tool/parts bay. I removed the white cover to the basement goodies behind the wall and built a door that opens to access that area. Still plenty of room on the opposite side for camping gear.

I installed a UWS TBC48DD in my Silverado. Worked great. Its flush with the bed rails so there's no interference with turning the 5ver. You can buy them on Amazon for $440. I bought mine as a return item for $300 and free delivery. I've had it since June 2018.

I have a "Roll-N-Lock" cover. My fifth wheel hitch sits low enough the cover passes. I have a v-shaped tailgate and designed a wood filler that is removed when towing and replaced upon arrival. When the cover is closed no one has any idea what is in the back of the truck. The cover is able to lock just ahead of the hitch and of course when fully closed. The wife and I have been full-timing about 10 years with no issues.

I have one in my truck similar. My doors open from the top of my box. I wanted the one you are showing but for 150.00 I thought I would try it. I think a new box was around 800.00. It sits below my bed rail and works good with my Fifthwheel Montana. I have a Blue ox hitch. My truck is a 2017 F350 SRW. I keep a hyd jack, chains straps, tools, extra engine oil, etc.. very handy. I did have to buy an extension for my 7 pin plug inside my bed. It was hard to access when I hooked my camper.

ID:	7749. On the other side of the wall, I removed the wall panels and ran them though the table saw to reduce their width so you can remove only the panels needed to get to what you need to get to. I installed a quad outlet for battery chargers or whatever. I carry a vast variety of tools and materials to fix just about anything on the road.

Yeah there's quite a bit of stuff in there but it's constantly changing add this take this out xcetera.

We camp with a fairly large group of other campers sometimes there's six or eight campers. I can't count the number of times either I had an issue or one of the other campers but I usually have what's needed to take care of the issue.
I hate being unprepared and having an issue that you don't have the tools to correct

As has already been stated, WOW!!!

I don't know that I have that many tools / connectors / bits AT MY HOUSE. Well, I do, but I don't have any idea where they are, because they are not nearly this organized, and they never move down the road!!!

To your comment about fixing things while camping, I've been involved in one or two of those situations as well, but I have a fairly decent set of tools / connectors / hardware that I have in my truck, and that's where most of it comes from.

Our current camper, does have a cordless drill and circular saw in it, so I am guilty, too, I guess...

I just hate paying someone to do something for me that I can do myself. I would bet I haven't spent $1,000 total at any repair shop/ dealer whatever in over 40 years.

And besides in the end the man with the most tools wins. Lol

I put ours on a crash diet in 2019 and anything I hadn't used (seen?) in a year or so went to either the S&B shop, was sold or given away. Now, just a mid size tool box and a small one for inside fixes and one or two bins full of 'things' that ya never know when it will be needed

I'll post some pics later. As far as weight goes I would have to guess. Maybe what's in that compartment alone 150 lb or so. Of course there's more weight elsewhere like for batteries. I carry a pancake compressor. Camp Chef 3 burner grill with Grill box and griddle that alone probably weighs 100 pounds. I tow very heavy that's for sure.

I would venture to say from its dry weight I probably added at least 3500 lb including the independent suspension/water/food etc, ready to tow to a trip. We are probably at or slightly over its gross vehicle weight rating full of freshwater

Can't figure out how to post them with this phone I'll have to wait till I get to my house computer.
I've weighed my stuff many times right before trips or in route the weight is always different depending upon where we're going and what I have in it. We're leaving in the morning for a 4-day trip. We're pretty well loaded up. I would bet the truck and camper are right at or slightly over there Max weights somewhere around 28500 total

I'm working on the man with the most tools wins! Recently, we moved my father-in-laws wood shop to my place, so I instantly doubled down on an awesome set of tools!

As for the letting others do the work thing, as I get older, I care less and less about that. Sure, I know how to change the oil in truck, I just have no desire to change the oil in the truck.

However, when it comes to buying something, if I can make it myself, I'm going to make it myself, and it's going to be way overkill when I'm done. Made us some cornhole boards this last summer, and they get a lot of compliments everywhere we go...

Yeah I hear you. That's why I built the pole building 10 years ago it has a car lift in it. I can change oil in 10 minutes
