Fresh water line/tank
Winterized our 2017 Montana 375FL today. I only drained the fresh water tank. I did not run any antifreeze into the tank. Am I ok? After I got home I got worried line going to tank may need antifreeze.

What I have done for many years and several different campers is to simply put 3-4 gal of antifreeze in the fresh tank and pump it through all fixtures until you see pink come out. Don't forget the outside shower and washer if you have one. Drain water heater and bypass first.
In the spring you simply fill and drain the tank several times/run all fixtures flushing the lines out, adding a little bleach the last time. Let that sit for several hours then flush everything several more times and you should be go to go for the season.

While I had the hose hooked up to the Winterize spot I switched the valve to fill fresh water and the pump ran for a second and stopped. Talked to a tech friend said they may have it setup while in wiinterize mode you can’t put anything in the fresh water tank to keep antifreeze out.

I guess the CYA answer is that you are not winterized. However, I have never put rv antifreeze in my freshwater tank and never will. If you drained your freshwater tank you will be fine. I have never had any problem in well below minus temps and I'm sure I never will.

Recommend moving somewhere warm where you don't need to worry about anti-freeze.

Use an air compressor to blow out that line similar to how you should do the black tank flush line

SC0872 Where are you located?
Reason I ask is I lived in South Carolina for the last 15 years. I would blow out the lines and maybe a little RV antifreeze in the traps. Of course we would sometimes head out for Fla for a weekend in Jan. so not the same.
We are back in Wis. now but all I do is blow the lines, drain everything possible and add RV antifreeze to the traps.

I didn't blow lines. I used the pump and filled lines with antifreeze and then opened the low point drains. Along with draining the fresh water tank. First time winterizing this camper.

A little water in the bottom of your fresh tank won't hurt a thing. When it freezes it has a place to expand. Put a little water in a glass and put it in the freezer and see what happens, nothing except the water freezes.
I gave a small compressor that I set to about 50 pounds and pressurize the water system hot water tank included. I blow the lines out several times for about a week or two. Any water that drains to the low spots gets blown out then put a little in the drains.

So, as I understand it, after blowing all the water out, pour a cup of antifreeze into the sinks and toilet, then leave a cupfull standing in the toilet bowl to protect the flush valve, yes?

The only line the manual says you need to blow out is the Black Tank flush. My first year I didn't blow out the water tank fill line and survived a northern IN winter. Just t be sure, did you first put the hot water heater in winterize bypass mode, drain the hot water heater leaving it in bypass mode, then run antifreeze through all the lines including the washer, sinks, shower, toilet, outside shower, and low point drains, and then pour some antifreeze in the shower and sink drains to fill the traps with antifreeze? You should leave the antifreeze in the lines when you are done and not drain the low points after (not sure if that is what you meant).

Yes I put the hot water heater in bypass mode and drained it. After I drained it I shot just a little antifreeze through the hot water heater and let it drain. I put the plug in after that. I then ran antifreeze through all the lines and then let plenty run into the drains from the faucets to fill traps. I then hooked my exterior shower hose to the black water flush and put antifreeze in that line. After that I opened the low point drains and the faucet in the kitchen and let it drain.

Typically you leave the antifreeze in the lines vs letting it drain.
On the hot water heater, make sure you flish the antifreeze out of it very thoroughly before using it. If not, it will generate a taste/odor that is hard to get rid of from my understanding

SC0872 The line that goes from the fresh water tank is a white flexible (sort of braided ) line. It is probably more forgiving that a pex line for freezing. You can send anti freeze down that line back to the tank by moving the valve from city water to fill tank.
Because I worry that line too, my thinking here is that if you do that with the valve you will be putting anti freeze into the fresh tank anyway. This is part of the reason that I do what I do to winterize by simply putting 3-4 gallons in the tank and pump it through all fixtures.
My method works great and there are no worries about anything ever freezing, plus I can winterize it in 15 mins.
For those worried about getting rid of the taste of antifreeze you could flush the water tank with water right after you winterize and it should dilute and get rid of most of it.
