Slideout Roofs?
I was up on top of the Monty the other day sweeping off debris and was wondering if the slideout roofs are strong enough to walk on? Would make sweeping and washing them a little easier if you could walk on them.
Any thoughts or info?

I have read previous forum reports of the Amish Craftsman walking on the slide roofs during the assembly process. From what I have seen of the Amish, they eat well, so that would lead me to believe that the slide roofs will support a good deal of weight.

Years ago, there use to be a picture in the brochure of all kinds of people standing on the roof of a slide room. I have walked on mine but, since I've fallen off the roof and had both hips replaced, ain't in the mood for that Bull-Crap any more! So, I get my nephew up there and stand on a ladder to tell him what to do just to avoid that slippery surface.

An RV salesman once told me that you should never walk on a slide out roof....which probably means that it's o.k.

Dick: We had a few Nephews left at the Camping World I work at when I first started but we put them on Clearance Sale to get rid of them. They ate too much!

On our previous Montana (2001) I used to get on them all the time for cleaning, etc…
Once at the Montana factory I saw the tour guide climb on top of them to show that it would support a person’s weight.
With our 2007RL I don’t get on them simply because they have the awnings over the slides or I wouldn’t be afraid to be on them. The only reservation I have about getting on them is the fact that it’s a long way to the ground whenever you’re viewing it from on top!
I don’t like falls!
