Twist on Valve
I have seen posts about grey/black water leaking when pulling the cap off. Has anyone ever used this from CW to replace the cap. It seems like it would work,

We got rid of the storage pipe and installed a termination valve similar to the one in the photo. Another advantage is that you can open both grey water valves and level the tanks if one fills before the other.

It works. I had it on my Cedar Creek and put it on Monte.

Yes, they work great and make accessing the drains a lot easier because you don't have to reach as far under the belly of the beast to attach the sewer hose.

Is it common for them to leak. We have been out twice now in ours and I got a surprise both times when removing the cap. The main one that the black and two galley tanks comes out of wasn't bad, but the one for the rear black tank must have had close to a gallon of water come out when I removed the cap. I had 4 holding tanks and two connections just like this on our previous Cruiser and never had this problem.

Our problem is a little sag just before the boom. If I reach under there and lift it up a couple inches no more leak.

Thanks to all the the great advice. No one likes to remove their cap and be surprised, I will be going to the local CW real soon.

They also make one that has a clear 45% elbow on it with the flush valve on it. The clear section comes in handy since we can see what's draining and if it is running clear.

That is nice, but I find that my hands are often dusty and the dripping rinses the dirt off them.

Dick hit it right. That sag in the boom collects water.

Suggest that when you install one and want to leave it on while traveling, that you drill a small hole in the edge in which to put a screw to hold it to the rigs' sewer outlet. Otherwise it will fall off going down the road. Don't ask me how I know!

With the advent of the dropped frame, the black and shower tanks are installed in the lower frame. The galley tank is installed on the upper frame. Consequently the galley tank is physically higher than the shower tank. It seems to me that trying to equalize the tanks results in filling the shower tank to the very tippy top before any waste water collects in the galley tank. I would think this puts an excessive strain on the shower tank.
What don't I understand?

Carl,
In my case the shower tank was full as we typically use more water in the shower than we do in the galley. I pulled the galley and shower tank valves and the water subsided in the shower tank to allow another shower before dumping the tank. What you say is likely correct, and I would not advocate traveling with the gray tanks full.
