Spray in truck liners
Who has the best product and what does it cost aprox? Pros and cons. What about a cover and bed mat without spray in.I just bought a new truck Chevy 3500 and I am trying to decide what to do with it.
Thanks
Steve

I had a Rhino liner in my 2003 GMC and got a Line X on my 2011 GMC. Both were in the $500 range, though the Rhino was on a standard bed, so I guess that makes the Line X a bit cheaper. Happy with both,, though I've only had the Line X a year so far and haven't put a lot of mulch, rocks, and other junk in it yet, which I tend to do. I used the Rhino hard - shoveling dirt, mulch, rocks, etc. Never wore out in the bed, but it did start to peel off the bed rails after about 6 years. Also, it dulled quite a bit, but it was exposed to the elements continuously. At first glance, the Line X seems a bit thicker and shinier, but again, it is new. I don't think you will go wrong either way.

I have used a Bed Mat for the last 9 years I have seen no need for a $$$ spray in liner
All depends on how you use your truck this works for us.
Also have a roll up Toneau cover

I have a spray in and love it. In the past year I have had two trucks done, $375.00 for short bed under the rails and $475.00 for long bed over the rails.
Line X liners.

So far as I can tell Line X has the best product. They have the standard black and a process developed by Dupont so they can match your truck with color that is molded in. Thats not all to it. Your truck bed needs to be sanded so the liner will stick.
I have the Line X in a light tan to match the tan on my truck. I haul loads of steel in it and its still in good shape. The line X is put on hotter than most so it doesn't get as soft in the hot sun.
I think the cost was about $1000.
Oh by the way great truck. ENJOY.

I had a prefab and it moved and rubbed the pain off allowing rust. This truck has LINE X and I am happy with it.

We have a Rhino spray in liner and it is holding up fine. I don't remember the cost. I would suggest that you have the rails for the hitch installed then removed before they spray in the liner. That way the cut edges of the sheet metal of the bed will also get coated and that may help prevent rust there. JMHO.

I have had LineX, Rhino and now just did my 2012 Ford with SPI. LineX was fine, Rhino performed well but I didn't care for the spray pattern. SPI has a similar look to LineX. Cost was about the same for all. I just paid $400 for SPI, short bed. Only reason I did SPI is the install date was more convenient for me.

I have a spray in liner which is similar to line-x that was installed at a local camper place when it was new 8 years ago and there is not a ding in it. Cost was just under $300.00 at the time but well worth it. The slide in ones will cause rusting problems underneath them as it wears the paint away in the bed of the truck.

Have a Line X spray liner in my 2002 F250. Done when truck was new. No damage to liner in 11 years of hard use.

We have Line-X in our 2006. It was just under $500 for the bed and tops of the rails. I chose it because at the time, Line-X had the only nationwide warranty. Rhino was warrantied by the installer only. I don't know if that's changed or not.

We have Line-X in our new Chevy and had it in our previous truck as well and looked like new the day we sold it. We're sold on Line-X and it was about $300.

I always use the spray in liner. Turbo Liner has been in my last 4 trucks and I've been very happy with the product. On my new Ram the dealer only offered Line-x and Rhino, I chose Rhino Lining. So far, so good. I will admit it appears to be a bit slicker when wet compared against the Turbo Liner, but not so bad that it would stop me from chosing the Rhino Liner again.

My 2006 King Ranch had the Rhino in it and my 2011 King Ranch has the Line-X. I believe the Line-X is more durable.

My last four trucks have had a spray-in liner. A fifth truck I bought used also had it. They were 1/2-ton, 3/4-ton, and 1-ton trucks. I have had Rhino and other brands. My 2011 has whatever the dealer put in it. I think it is Ultimate Linings.
I think he broke off from Rhino and contracted exclusively with the dealer. This dealer sold pickups for the most part, so this contractor had lots of business. The last price was about $300 to $350. They have all been good, durable linings. I don't care for the slip-in rubber mats.

I've had Rhino and Line-X before, and both are great products, with Rhino the least slippery, but Line-X looks better.
My new truck has ArmorThane, I believe a Canadian product that seems to be in between Rhino and Line-X and so far am happy with it, and costs less.

I use a bed rug http://www.bedrug.com/ . It's a LOT easier on the knees (it's PADDED) and I can remove it if I ever sell the truck. My bed paint still looks like new after 2 1/2 years. The bonus is that it looks custom yet you can haul the same stuff that you would with a spray in liner. I have a folding hard cover that allows me to secure whatever is in the truck bed. All I have to do is lock the tailgate. I can also tow with it installed.
Everyone has their favorite... this setup works for me.

I did the Hercules DYI roll on and so far has done real well. Looks real good and can say a PITA to do. For the cost of it and the hassle I would have the Rhino or similar done. Never again DYI on this project. After doing all that sanding and then applying it my knees were shot. Unless your young and able have someone else do it for you. I think the cost was reasonable as I think it was just over $100 to do it, and three days of recovery........lol
