Tire pressure monitoring systems

Thanks, guys, for the information about rims. Now, what are the recommendations for brands of tire pressure monitors? Thanks.

TST system. I had some problems with the moniter and they sent me a replacement. Wouldn't be without it. Gives pressure and temperature.

We have the Pressure Pro and it saved us on our first trip with it. I also wouldn't be without one.

I went with the TST after asking others on the forum and doing some detailed "internet" research. Forethought is required as to the mounting location in the truck that you have available, the size of the display monitor, need for temperature and pressure monitoring as well as whether the information is available for any tire immediately. I also went with the user changeable batteries, so I would not have to send the individual sensors back for battery replacement. Good luck with what I trust will be an educated decision.

I just purchased TST after too many problems with my Hawkshead HD. For me, it was either Pressure Pro or TST. I felt the Pressure Pro has a longer or better history based on my research but I liked the TST monitor better. In my case, better means smaller.

I have the Hawkshead.....and happy for three reasons.....can replace the battery in each one and not have to replace the whole unit, includes both high and low pressure monitoring as well as high and low temp, and lastly, don't need an additional booster to reach the Monty......

We will probably go with TST but Tredit said they are getting ready to market a pressure/temp system that is mounted to the inside of the rim. so there are several options out there.

Have a Hawkshead, and am not very happy with it. Twelve month warranty expired and I started to have problems 6 weeks after the warranty expired. I sent Hawkshead an e-mail informing them of the problem and their response was that since the warranty expired there was nothing that they can do. They said all I can do is order another monitor.

Hows that for customer service.

I'm a minority in the votes; I have a Doran 360RV. I'm pleased with it and have had no problems so far.Tech support was good when I had a question.

My wife's car (Buick-2007) has the in the tire sensors and they have been nothing but trouble since we got the car. Maybe it's only our car, but I'm nervous about that type system.

Hawkshead here. I am on my second one, the first one never worked right, kept blowing fuses, they sent me a new charger, (I told them it was the unit) it did the same well, until it burned up on my dash.
They sent me a new one, wouldn't program correctly, took two days, then every once and a while it tells me a tire is losing air. I pull over, take the pressure readings with two different good gages, pressure right on. I remove the battery, replace it and drive down the road.
I am having the old 'Osbern luck' with it. Would not buy another one. Would like to have my money back.
Maybe it is the electromagnetic field around my truck with all the aftermarket stuff I have on it, don't know...

Three of us stopped next to each other in a plaza on the Ohio TP. A discussion of tire pressure was on going. I walked around all three with my heat sensor and found less than five degrees difference between all twelve tr. tires and less than four degrees diff. between eighteen trk. tires. I was satisfied. Will continue to use it. I'm still not sure that a T.P.S. is worth the investment. Maybe later. Found four broken belts on Marathons before they blew. Frequent visual checks and heat sensor worked for me. Larry
