Porpane prices
I am curious as to what other folks are paying for propane. I have had to pay 1.00 a pound at a BP in Bluffton SC. Where CW in Pooler Ga charged 2.99 a gallon and a propane gas company in Statesboro charged 1.45 a gallon. At 2.99 a gallon the cost for a 30 lb tank would be around 21.30. At 1.00 a lb 30.00 for a fill. At 1.45 per gallon 10.30. So you see there is a vast difference in pricing even in a local area... Dave

Wow, a vast difference(double), thought we were alone!!! We just experience that during our spring travels up here in Canada. Cost of 30lb. in Alberta, 650 miles from here was $16.00 whereas we just filled at our seasonal just outside a National Park in Manitoba and the price was $33.00. Shocked to say the least, SUCH a difference!!! In the propane business, at least, it seems to not be sold on a reasonable profit bases but rather what the market will bear.

Just paid $30.00 for a 30lb tank here in Goshen. Two weeks ago I paid $24.00 in Tennessee. Past Winter paid $14.00 in Arizona.

Yeah, go figure, I've been using propane for 10 years from Suburban Propane when suddenly they decided to up my cost to $5.90/gallon. Well, I wasn't happy and they "wanted to work with me", ha, right, I'm only operating a clothes dryer using about 49 gallons a year... I had them pull it and now using electric, go figure its cheaper??

Had a retailer in our area doing the same thing, charging $5.00 plus tax when others were charging $2.25. Figure that they just didn't wanted to be bothered. We are now about $2.80/gal

Five or six dollars per gallon! Ouch! That is outrageous. With those kinds of prices I assume they simply do not want to sell any propane. We just paid $3.25 and thought that was way too high.

Before we left Wisconsin last fall the bulk price was 1.09, I called and asked. Drove over and had them fill my 30 pounder, they charged me 26.95. I asked what were they trying to pull, their excuse was it is a fill charge. So for 7.74 worth of propane I have to pay a 19.21 fill charge. I told them to take the 500 gallon tank out of the yard and I would buy one. They ain't gonna get 50.00 rent for the tank and still rape me on the fill... Dave

The last few times I bought propane for our camper, I took the bottles in to a local auto parts store where they refill them. I also know this person really well and when they fill it up they say that’ll be $20.00 (per tank).
