washing machine waste water

On a 2007 - 3400 what waste water tank does the washing machine drain into? Is it the black, grey or galley?

We have the 2007 Big Sky 340RLQ, which is basically the 3400 with Big Sky upgrades but with, I believe, the same plumbing system as in the 3400. In our rig, the washing machine drains straight into the outlet drain pipe and does not go into any of the holding tanks, so the sewer hose has to be connected up in order to run the washer. I strongly suspect that your plumbing system is setup the same way.

Our 09 Big Sky the washer runs into the grey tank for the bathroom; at least that's what my dealer told me...he wouldn't lie, would he???

I can promise you that the Big Sky drains directly into the sewer and should not be used without being hooked up to one with the drain open. Camping World did not believe me when I told them this when they were fixing a small proplem in my washer. Water was going up through the ceiling and all over the floor. They had a real mess to clean up and they didn't dare charge me for all the extra labor.

Our 2007 3400 drains directly to the sewer as others have stated. You can look under the rig and see the downpipe near the washer/dryer closet where it enters the main sewer drain. By the way, if you are entertaining thoughts of using a tank or buddy tank for washing clothes without being hooked up, our Splendide uses between 7 and 12 gallons per complete washing cycle. If we are camping for more than a couple of days, DW insists on full-hookups because of the washer.

Bingo, we have camped for extended periods of time using a "blue boy" waste tank with the washer. One regular load fills it approximately 2/3 full, Bob takes it to the dump and we're good to go again. He is such a patient and generous guy to drag that little blue tank just so I can do laundry.

Oh, in addition, our 2008 Big Sky washer drain is plumbed directly to the sewer outlet and not into a tank.

Woo Hoo! I guess I better take another look! Good news is we have only used the Splendide twice in the year we have had it, and I THINK both times we were hooked to a sewer, but neither time were dump valves open. I guess this means directly into the drain. Boy, if that is the case we were very lucky!!

Pam,
I can see where in your situation that would work. Ours is usually a little different in that it seems like the washer runs non-stop when we are camping. Not that I am complaining about the three women that always tag along, but where one set of clothes lasts me for a day, it seems the teens are not happy unless they dirty at least two sets a day plus four towels on the normal days. On other days when the oldest teen feels a need for excessive clean, the towel count can easily double as does the dirty clothes count. Got a hunch, even Bob would tire of that many trips to the dump!! To give you an idea, the oldest daughter can not get by with one suitcase for a weekend camping trip!!! Women, can't live with them, can't live without them!! That ought to lengthen this thread a little??? Hee Hee!!

We've lived in our 3500rl for six months per year(warm weather) over the last 3 years. We use the washer all the time and we have never had sewer hook ups. I installed a valve on the end of the waste line and open the grey and galley valves. This gives me about 80 gallons of waste. After 2 showers and 2 laundry loads I pump the tanks to a tote tank I have on my truck. I Have never had a problem.

Our 2007 3400 drains directly into the main dump pipe without going through any tank. Take a look at yours from right by the stairs. If you see the pipe coming out of the w/d closet, under the rig, and connecting to the main dump pipe, then yours is the same as ours.

Our 2003 3295RK dumped into the shower gray tank. Twice I neglected to open the grey tank valve and we had water overflow the shower. Not fun.

For a year or so after those models, the w/d was plumbed into the black tank.
