US-199

We are going to travel south on I-5 to the Spring Rally in Canyonville from June 5th.to the 12th. and we plan to work our way back north up the Oregon coast. Our concern is the first leg of our journey home will be from Grants pass to Brookings via US-199. The state of California resticts coaches over 40 feet from traveling US-199 between the Californian border and its intersection with US-101 near Crescent city in Oregon, while our coach is just under 40 feet, i was wondering if anyone has traveled 199 and could advise us on what they encountered while navigating 199. Thanks.

Larry and Gloria,
We've been on that road a number of times. It is a decent road and you should have no trouble pulling your rig. It is a very 'scenic' road so take your time and enjoy. Not too much longer till the Rally. See you there.

I have driven this road without the Montana. There are some tight turns. Bark is missing on some trees. Big trucks too fast. Take it slow and you will be ok.

We will meet at the rally.

Thanks for the heads up on the tight turns and we are looking forward to a slow scenic drive to the Oregon coast, we also look forward to meeting you all at the spring rally.

Larry and Gloria,

We too have been on that road going both ways several times.

Like others have said, take your time and enjoy the views. The redwoods are beautiful!

See you at the rally!
