New brake controller
Just received my new Prodigy brake controller today - hope to install it next week. I do have a dumb question about installation. My TV is an F250 diesel with 2 batteries. Do I need to disconnect BOTH the negative cables, or just 1? (I told you it was dumb!!) Anyway, your responses and any suggestions or tips will be much appreciated. I'm looking forward to taking the fiver out soon.

Ditto Gpats. Harness came with truck, hooked up prodigy to harness, mounted prodigy under dasg, plugged harness in under dash, ready to set and forget, piece of cake!!

Dennis, if that's a dumb question, then I'm right there with you. I don't know if both batteries are for the entire truck or just one. I know both are used for starting the engine. But I don't know if both are connected into the rest of the truck. And if just one, which one?
Don, I put Prodigys on earlier Fords (pre builtin controller). If yours has the tow package then it has the harness under the dash. Mine had a connector laying under the seat, also. It should connect just like Bingo said.

Very good question. If it requires you to disconnect the battery then yes you have to disconnect both. The diesels use two batteries in parallel to have more cranking current.
Best of luck.

If you are trying to kill power to the truck undo one battery and open the door if the light goes on then you hae to do both of them. Normally you do have to do both to kill all power. But as GPATS said I just plugged it in to the factory harness and let it rip...
