Boy! I would have failed Kindergarten!!! And I graduated 4th out of 400 in 1960. Our education system really sucks doesn't it? The teachers try to look like the kids and the kids are trying to figure out ways to steal answers from the theachers.

This is really wierd when you consider that many of the teachers in those days did not have a college degree. Especially teachers in country schools. They took a course (normal training it was called) in high school, sometimes a semester of college and then a test and they could teach. Both my Mother and my Grandmother were teachers in this system and they taught all eight grades in one room, sweep the floors, brought water in from the well, put coal or wood in the stove for heat and monitored the playground during lunch and recess. They taught in Cherokee County Kansas. BTW Orthography means Spelling.
Happy trails..........................

No wonder more families are home schooling these days. Anyone who has been served at the checkout counter by a young person these days can see for themselves that the schools are not teaching math, and it makes you wonder what else they are not learning.
